"Brownfield lots" or "free manufacturing area "Industrial lots that are currently not used for their intended purpose but contain elements of industrial infrastructure (premises, buildings, communication, etc.) and can be reused for industrial purposes. Such places are often found in areas that were industrial centers in the past, but for various reasons, lost their positions. |
"Greenfield lots" or "free lots""Greenfield lots" are areas free of any constructions, the soil of which was never developed. Lots of this type are often found in urban and suburban areas and strongly contrast to developed surrounding areas. Sometimes in the past such sites were used for agricultural purposes (e. g., pasture) but for the most these are fields and wasteland that is a part of urban and suburban landscapes.
