Geographical location
		The Lviv region is located in the West part of Ukraine, bordering with Ternopil, Volyn, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions. West part of the region borders with the European Union (The Republic of Poland).Time Zone: GMT+2 Due to its geographical location, Lviv region is an "entry" to Ukraine for the EU countries and is located at the crossroad of trade routes between Europe and Asia. The administrative centre – Lviv city (800,000 inhabitants). The largest cities are: Drogobych (98 ths. inhabitants) Chervonograd (82 ths. inhabitants) Stryi (60 ths. inhabitants) Sambir (35 ths. inhabitants) Boryslav (37 ths. inhabitants) Truskavets (29 ths. inhabitants)

		Transport infrastructure
	Through territory of Lviv region pass three important transport corridors: from West to East corridor # 3 Berlin - Wroclaw - Lviv - Kyiv corridor # 5 Trieste - Ljubljana - Lviv from North to South corridor Gdansk - Warsaw - Lviv - Odesa International network of railways to the capitals of many European countries is laid. Lviv International Airport is an air border crossing. International airlines connect the cities of the Middle East, Eastern, Central and Western Europe, North Americas, and CIS countries. There are few border crossing points with Poland on the west side of the Lviv region: 4 automobile (Krakovets, Shegyni, Rava-Rus’ka, Cmil’nytsa) 3 railway (Rava-Rus’ka, Mostys’ka, Khyriv)
Population		International transport corridors
Population of the region is 2.5 million people, that consist 5.9% of the population of Ukraine. Lviv region is on the fourth position in Ukraine after Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions in population quantity, and the second (after Donetsk) by its population density. Urban population – 60,4% Rural population – 39,6%.
